The winemaker

Château de l'Evangile was founded by the Léglise family in the 18th century. The family made a major contribution to the founding of Pomerol. Today, the estate is one of the most renowned vineyards in the region. The estate's difference lies in its terroir, which it shares with Château Pétrus and Cheval Blanc: it benefits from a long stretch of gravel, exceptional for the region. The estate boasts several remarkable vintages, including 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2005. The 22 hectares are planted with Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines.
