The winemaker

Old property of Baron Foussat of Bogeron, bought by John Beyney in 1923; recovery by his son Yvan Beyney in 1950; This family property is currently led by Jean-Guy Beyney - alongside his wife Christine - the 3rd generation representatives who ensure the wine with passion, seriousness and expertise, keen to make the most of this noble terroir in the pure respect of traditions. Chateau Clos de Sarpe is also a detached house, human size, generous and altruistic, based on respect for the land and the constant search for perfection, for fun lovers of quality wine. Small size, low yields, old vines, growing old, new wooden farm, any traditional expertise of Jean-Guy Beyney combine to produce a complex wine and fruity highly focused and respectful of nature and its rhythm . Vinified with passion and respect for tradition, Château Clos de Sarpe knows few rivals in terms of concentration and longevity. The vintages keep their freshness and purity over decades. In 1997, Jean-Guy Beyney decides to produce a second wine to property; Charles Sarpe, known for its elegance flexibility, aromatic and warming finish.
