The winemaker
The parcels of Château Cardinal Villemaurine are divided into three production blocks in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation. The wines are produced on three different types of soil: limestone, clay and sandy-clay. The wines are produced from a classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc adds structure and finesse. Merlot brings roundness, fruitiness and fatness to the wines. The soils are worked in the traditional way, by horse and cart.
