The winemaker
The model for the 225-liter Bordeaux barrel is said to come from Broustet, as attested by the archives of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce. Located in Barsac, this magnificent estate has been owned by Vignobles de Terroirs since 2010.
Château Broustet's vineyards are planted on two terroirs: clay-limestone and gravel. In late summer, the morning fog warmed by the sun allows noble rot to develop early and slowly. The pebbles strewn with topaz capture the heat and gradually release it, optimizing the over-ripening of each individual berry. Hand-picked grapes are sorted selectively and successively. The result is an exceptional wine. The Sauternes appellation is certainly one of the best known in the world. In addition to the judicious choice of grape varieties, the meticulous work of men and the nature of the soils, the 5 communes of the appellation boast a microclimate conducive to the development of noble rot, indispensable for obtaining the precious nectar with its limpid, marvelous color and unique, incomparable fragrance.
