Château Bellegrave: a family history
Château Bellegrave is one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc. It produces the Haut Médoc Grand Cru appellation, which has been classified as a Bordeaux great wine since 1855. The estate is committed to environmental protection, and produces its wine with respect for nature and the terroir.
The mature terroir of Château Bellegrave
Located south of the town of Pauillac, Château Bellegrave was first owned by Armand Roux and then by Monsieur Van-der-Voort. Château Bellegrave was then acquired by nurseryman Jean-Paul Meffre in 1997. Today, the estate is run by his two grandsons.
In the cellars of Château Bellegrave, ...
... You'll find mainly red wines like Médocs (cuvées 2001 and 2011), Cabernet Sauvignons (cuvée 2015) and Pomerols. Château Bellegrave also offers exceptional wines such as its 1995 St Emilion Rouge. Its 2014 Haut Médoc also features in the Grand Cru classification. The estate presents two wines, both certified Terra Vitis and Haute Valeur Environnementale. The first is the Grand Vin Château Bellegrave. A well-balanced wine, it has fruity aromas and a very dark color. The second is Les Sieurs de Bellegrave.
