Château le geai - carmine - pure carmenere 2018situated in the north of the Libourne region of Bordeaux, Domaine d’henri duporge has 18 hectares planted with merlot, cabernet, malbec and carménère noire. He is the owner of Chateau Le Geai and Chateau Touzet. In 2000, he took over the family business and set up the château le geai, as part of an organic and biodynamic farming approach. He is responsible for his own vineyard work, vinification and wine-making. The different grape varieties are vinified separately, and Henri duporge uses a low-intervention technique known as "glougloutage". This consists of immersing the marc and keeping it in a closed environment throughout fermentation, without any intervention; a bung allows the gas to escape and the wine to "glouglout" in the middle of the mass.cuvée carmine comes from an old Bordeaux massal selection of carménère. It is grown on sandy-clay soils on the slopes overlooking the Rivière de l'Isle. Vinification takes place in vats, followed by 20 months of yeasting in clay amphorae.cépage : 100% carmènère
