The estate / the house / the winery:
The Château de Fontenille vineyard in the entre-deux-mers appellation, covers 56 ha, divided as follows: 20 ha for white and 36 ha for red. The terroir benefits from a particular exposure, i.e. bordered on one side by the Garonne and on the other by the Gironde, thus protecting it from any viticultural disease. The estate has been awarded the hve (high environmental value) label, demonstrating the high quality of its wines. This cuvée is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged for 18 months in the cellar, half of which in oak barrels.
The wine:its color is ruby red, quite deep. This wine is elegant on the palate, silky and round, displaying all the characteristics of a wine dominated by the Merlot grape variety. It is well structured, full-bodied, distinguished and harmonious.
Ageing and food pairing:It has good ageing potential, between 5 and 7 years, but can also be enjoyed now. To fully appreciate it, pair it with dishes such as grilled meats, poultry or even blanquette de veau. Tasting it with certain cheeses will allow it to develop all its aromas.
