In a few words ...

Thanks to the high proportion of Merlot, the wine is particularly soft and round, with fruity notes of ripe redcurrants and cherries, tasty, full-bodied, round and balanced with a long finish. The average age of the vines is 15 years. The vineyards are mainly composed of clay and limestone soils, with a planting density of around 5,000 vines/ha. Yields are limited to 10 to 12 bunches per vine to achieve maximum intensity. The vineyards are cultivated with respect for the environment. Traditional techniques, such as leaf thinning, are used. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed slowly and carefully at low temperature. Fermentation takes place in steel vats at 28°c and lasts around 10 to 20 days. 80% of the wine is matured in steel vats, while 20% undergoes malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. The lees are stirred twice a week before bottling. The family-run Château Bel Air Perponcher estate, located in the Entre-deux-Mers region just a stone's throw from St. Emilion, covers 55 hectares. The despagne family of winegrowers is proud of a winegrowing culture that has lasted for over 250 years. Today, the estates are run by thibault despagne with three oenologists and a viticultural engineer. Before his father, jean louis despagne, took over responsibility some 40 years ago and graduated in oenology from the university of bordeaux, he first worked in south america, california and north africa to gain international experience, which he applied with great success. As a result, Château Bel Air is the first winery in France to be certified to the international iso 9002 standard. Château Bel Air is one of the 500 best wine estates in France, according to the Guide Hachette. Allergene:enthält sulfite
