Clairet is a wine to be drunk chilled, more tannic, darker and fruitier than rosé, and was first highly prized by the English, who gave it its name. Clairet du Puy Faure is made from Merlot grapes, and is "bled" after two days' maceration, giving it its bright color and red fruit aromas.
