The winemaker

Pierre Cotton: permaculture as a watchword

With his partner, Marie Bonnet, Pierre Cotton lets nature work at its own pace, surrounding his vines with a diversity of plant species (hedges, trees, flowers) to nourish the soils of his vineyard. The estate's 13 hectares include vines over 60 years old, planted on clay-limestone and granite loam soils, depending on the plot. These are planted with respect for soil boundaries, and their southern exposure favors natural, gentle ripening of the fruit.

The wines of Domaine Bonnet-Cotton

Pierre Cotton produces various cuvées in the Beaujolais, Brouilly, Côtes de Brouilly, Régnié and Fleurie appellations. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wines are aged in cement vats or foudre for 8 months. Our red wines are essentially made from Gamay noir with white juice, from plots with different soils, to diversify flavors.
