The winemaker

Welcome to Perrachon. We continue the work of our elders, carrying on an ancient tradition as attested by the history of Juliénas, which mentions the PERRACHON family among the winegrowers as early as 1601. We work the old-fashioned way, harvesting by hand and goblet pruning. Our yield per vine is one of the lowest in France, but guarantees the quality and authenticity of our wines: 6 Beaujolais crus, Chénas, Fleurie, Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent and Saint Amour, and our Beaujolais / Villages. We also produce great "Cuvées Spéciales". In 1877, the PERRACHON family acquired the Domaine de la Bottière, located in the commune of Juliénas, on the best slopes of Juliénas, with very stony granite soil. Next came Domaine des Perelles, in the commune of Romanèche-Thorins, at the foot of the prestigious Moulin-à-Vent hillside. This is also where we vinify our Morgons, from Versauds, a locality at the foot of Côte-du-Py, which produces the most famous Morgons. Domaine des Mouilles, also in Juliénas, was acquired in 1989. This is the heart of the appellation, with the best exposure and soils. We have recently added parcels in Chénas, Fleurie and Saint-Amour.
