Domaine des Terres Dorées
(22 customer reviews)
Jean-Paul Brun founded Terres Dorées in 1979 with 4 hectares of vines in Charnay in the south of Beaujolais. This region benefits from warmer weather and more chalky soil than northern Beaujolais, with its granite. The estate covers 30 hectares and is farmed organically. Find out more

The winemaker
From the outset, Jean-Paul's domaine has differed from its Beaujolais neighbors: he doesn't chaptalize and advocates traditional vinification. Although not an adherent of natural wine, his wine is one of the most natural in Beaujolais. When Jean-Paul Brun decided to go into winegrowing, he thought big. Located in the heart of the Beaujolais region, the Terres Dorées estate covers 53 hectares, 44 of which are devoted to reds and seven to whites. Hand-harvested, the vines have an average age of 40 years and produce 300,000 bottles a year. Gamay noir à jus blanc, pinot noir, roussanne and chardonnay are the grape varieties used. For wine lovers, this mishmash of flavors quickly becomes unforgettable.
