The winemaker

Château de Juliénas has belonged to the Condemine family since 1907. Situated on a 40-hectare estate, it produces four Beaujolais appellations: Juliénas, Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie and Beaujolais-Villages Rosé. Today, Thierry Condemine, great-grandson of Claude Condemine, and his wife Aurélie run the estate. Building on the know-how of their forebears, but also mindful of today's environmental issues, they blend tradition and modernity. Indeed, mindful of current environmental issues, in 2018 they committed to respecting the environment in order to preserve biodiversity, soil, air and water quality. The estate has obtained the HVE and Terra Vitis labels, but this was just the first step towards something more ambitious. In 2022, after 5 years of conversion, the château was certified organic! The estate also offers a number of wine tourism activities: tours of the winery and cellars, picnics in the vineyards, guided tours through the vineyards in a 1964 Volkswagen Combi, and individual wine tastings.
