In a few words ...
domaine recerca, which means "research" in Catalan, was created by jess albero and laurent pujol in the catalan corbières. Together with her husband chris, who passed away too soon, Jess was at the origin of the zulu range of wines. Based in Vingrau, where part of their 4.5-hectare vineyard is located, they also have a plot in Paziols. Working as naturally as possible, they banish all inputs. The wines are pure, straightforward, fresh and well-balanced. The blend of Syrah and Muscat vines (40 years old) planted on marl and clay terroirs is a real pleasure for the senses. Half whole bunch and half crushed, macerated for five days before pressing and matured in vats for ten months. The nose reveals delicious notes of red berries, blackcurrant, violets, blood orange and a hint of spice. The palate is fresh and delicate, thanks to a fine balance between fruitiness, mineral tension and fine tannins. Around 2000 bottles produced. Favourite
