The winemaker
Terroir and vineyard characteristics
Domaine Hubert Metz covers 10 hectares in the Alsace vineyards, in the Bas-Rhin department, in Blienschwiller. Most Alsace vineyards produce white wines and Crémant d'Alsace. Single grape varieties dominate. The great white varieties Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris and Blanc, Sylvaner leave little room for Pinot Noir.
The wines of Domaine Hubert Metz
Domaine Hubert Metz has been producing integrated wines for over twenty years, and recently launched its first organic cuvée. The estate produces Crémant d'Alsace white and rosé brut, and single-vineyard white and red wines. Domaine Hubert Metz markets its wines in four ranges: Fabuleuses Réserves for a taste of emblematic Alsatian grape varieties, Fabuleuses Vieilles Vignes from the oldest vines, Fabuleux Terroirs which are Winzenberg Grands Crus, and Fabuleuses Gourmandises which include sweet and late-harvest wines.
