Domaine albert mann -alsace grand cru- schlossberg - riesling 2017situation: kientzheim geology: granite its olfactory expression is well-balanced, inviting, fresh, fine and harmonious. Notes of fresh citrus, bergamot, kumquat, ripe yellow lemon and apple compote. We can easily guess the nature of the terroir giving this racy wine the noble character of granite rock. It carries us into a world of lacy minerality. The taut, multi-dimensional palate, with its almost imperceptible taste of rock, gives this wine its originality and unique personality. The wine is harmonious, well-balanced and dry, with a distinguished, well-dosed strength. The estate, born of the union of the Mann and Barthelmé families, two great winegrowing lines dating back to the seventeenth century, has for some years now been producing wines of the highest quality, emblematic of the finest that Alsace can produce. The brothers Jacky and Maurice Barthelmé, assisted by Marie-Claire and Marie-Thérèse, have not rested on their laurels, thanks to their meticulous work in the vineyard and their highly specialized winemaking skills. Certified biodynamic in 2013, it is one of France's finest estates. The wines' balance, digestibility and depth make them models for all wine lovers. Located in wettolsheim in the haut-rhin region, domaine albert mann has established itself over the years as one of the driving forces in alsatian viticulture. It has to be said that the domaine albert mann enjoys a privileged location, in a region with an ancient winegrowing tradition. Wettolsheim wine is mentioned as far back as the Middle Ages, when vines began to cover the hillsides surrounding the town. Benefiting from its proximity to Colmar and the commercial power of Strasbourg, from which its wines were shipped throughout Europe from the 16th century onwards, wettolsheim's vineyards grew steadily until the beginning of the last century. Poor harvests and damage caused to the vines by various pests then brought the commune's production to a halt.
