Terroir : North-eastern slope of the Grand Cru de l'Eichberg. The soil consists of Oligocene marl and sandstone scree. The layer of topsoil is very thin, and the roots quickly penetrate the bedrock to a depth of 30/40cm. Because of their less sunny exposure, these plots ripen more slowly and are ideally suited to Riesling. The Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage route runs alongside these plots and has given its name to the Lieu-Dit. Vinification: Pneumatic pressing extracts the juice at very low pressures. Fermentation lasts several weeks. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel vats for 10 months.
A very charming Riesling on the nose, with a powerful mouthfeel!
Appearance
The color is golden yellow with intense reflections. The disk is bright, limpid and transparent.
Aroma
The nose is frank and intense. Candied, overripe aromas dominate, marked by citrus fruits, yellow lemon, exotic fruits, star fruit, mango, as well as a hint of vanilla.
