In a few words ...
Grapes harvested on the Schieferberg hillside, 900 meters above sea level, in the Reichsfeld commune. This terroir enjoys full southern exposure and a steep slope, guaranteeing maximum sunshine. The soil is composed of schist, a greenish-gray, laminated rock dating back over 5 million years. These are the oldest sedimentary rocks in Alsace. Vines are obliged to seek their nourishment deep in the rock, which is where they find their originality. Schist accumulates heat during the day and releases it at night. Riesling: A racy, characterful wine, opening with lemony notes. The palate is distinguished by a frank attack, with citrus notes.
