La Cave de L'illEstimated delivery between Dec 30, and Jan 1,
The Terroirs de Bourgogne range is a selection of famous villages, named after a climate, as well as the Premiers and Grands Crus of Burgundy. These wines are only produced in limited quantities, demonstrating the special care we take in their elaboration. Fixin is a village on the Côte de Nuits, located at the entrance to the combe north of Gevrey-Chambertin. This village appellation covers around 100 hectares and produces mainly red wines (95%). It includes 6 1er Cru climats, all located on the village's 19-hectare hillside. The "La Mazière" climat borders the Route des Grands Crus, to the north of the village, and covers an area of 2.2 hectares. Its name comes from the Latin "MACERIAE", meaning dry-stone enclosure walls; over time, the meaning has evolved somewhat, taking on the meaning of ruins, piles of material from collapsed buildings. We can therefore assume that once upon a time, dwellings and/or walls adjoined the plot, giving it its name when they fell into disrepair.
