The climate in 2013 was marked by a very long winter, heavy rainfall in spring, and sharp temperature contrasts in summer, all of which produced one of the latest vintages in the last twenty years. High acidity brings tension and freshness to wines that follow in the footsteps of 2004, 2007 and 2010: vintages that reveal the hard work of our winemakers. Menetou-Salon Rouge 2013 is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. The 13 hectares of vines are planted in 5 clos, spread over four communes in the appellation: Morogues, Menetou-Salon, Vignoux and Parassy. Planted and tended for several generations, the average age of the vines exceeds 28 years. Harvesting, by hand in 25 kg crates, took place from October 7 to 19. The grapes were sorted by hand. Maceration lasted around twenty days. The entire production is bottled on the estate.
