Production in the Cotes de Provence is varied, from large volumes of wines to be drunk young to the great classic whites, reds and rosés. The latter are made by ambitious winemakers who strive to make the most of traditional grape varieties, and have adopted other grape varieties hitherto foreign to the region: viognier, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah.
The 1979 vintage produced a fine harvest in terms of both quality and quantity. The wines are harmonious, balanced and fruity. With good ageing potential, the great wines are magnificent today. Long underestimated, this vintage remains excellent value for money.
