The vineyard's origins date back to the 16th century, making it one of the oldest crus in the Saint Emilion region. Its beautiful 17th-century Carthusian monastery was originally a Carthusian cloister. Owned by Jacques de Canolle in 1466, the Château then belonged to the Dumas de Fombrauge family, who turned it into a veritable viticultural training ground in the 18th century.
