In a few words ...

"croix de bois is an organic, single-varietal Grenache wine made from the typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape soil: large quartzite pebbles and sandy red clay. These pebbles are an undeniable asset! They store heat during the day and release it to the vines at night, guaranteeing perfect ripening of the berries. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted. The grapes are destemmed, then vinified in closed concrete vats, with vatting lasting up to 3 weeks. Only the free-run juice is used in this cru, which is then aged for 14 to 16 months in vats. chapoutier croix de bois châteauneuf-du-pape 2014 is an intensely fruity, full-bodied, unctuous wine. It has a deep, brilliant garnet-red color. The aromatic intensity of the nose reveals a bouquet of black fruits, blackcurrants, ripe cherries and even blackberry jam, with a hint of bay leaf and even licorice. Taut, full-bodied and unctuous on the palate, very typical of blackberry jam, with a finish of warm tannins and a hint of spice. A great vintage that can be cellared for up to 30 years".
