The splendid Château de la Tour is the only estate to vinify its wines on the Clos de Vougeot, of which it owns the majority. Masterfully taken over by françois labet, this first-rate vineyard offers us a flagship cuvée of the côte de nuits, which regularly reaches the very top. Winemaking with whole grapes, coupled with ageing in partially new oak barrels, produces a telluric, rooted wine with an incredibly racy structure. 100% pinot noir. Vines averaging 50 years old. 6 hectares. Gently sloping hillside facing east. Gravelly, stony soil at the top, clay at the bottom. Only 22,000 bottles per year. Aged mainly in new barrels.
