"benoît trocard: ambition and talent this ambitious young winemaker is obsessed with respect for the vines: pruning, leaf thinning and harvesting are carried out by hand using traditional ancestral methods. vinification is meticulously carried out, plot by plot, in the estate's large cellar. The nectars from the different Clos are then aged separately in French oak barrels, before being skilfully blended. Clos dubreuil's ambitious cuvées are regularly acclaimed by critics for their power and precision. clos dubreuil" displays an opulent style, elegantly expressing the freshness of a bewitching fruit. "clos dubreuil 2000: the elegance of a remarkable saint-émillion this cuvée, and especially that of the 2000 vintage, is breathtaking. clos dubreuil is an undeniable success. Composed of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine has been aged for many months in oak to express a richness of flavor and intense depth. Under a dark purple color, it offers a marvelous bouquet of blackberries, cherries, blackcurrants and beautiful toasted notes suggesting aromas of coffee and chocolate, typical of oak ageing. The palate is sumptuous and opulent. The wine is well-balanced, with fine, silky tannins and a complex flavor. This bottle is one of the jewels in the clos dubreuil crown, to be enjoyed until 2020. Best served with sirloin with porcini mushrooms at 17°c. A grand cru to be savored on a special occasion...
