On this exceptional terroir in the Fronsac appellation, where Merlot is king, the family-run Château Clos du Roy offers wines of remarkable power and elegance. .5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 90% Merlot. Sustainable viticulture, use of sorting tables, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, ageing in oak barrels, blending, traditional cork.
"A touch of Cabernet Sauvignon and a hint of Cabernet Franc complement the Merlot in this almost black wine. The nose conjures up violet, red fruit, cocoa and pepper. Despite some tannins that are still a little austere, the palate is balanced, warm and persistent."
