The winemaker
François Lurton has always had a particular fascination for the cultivation of vines in Chile. As he says: "If I were a vine, I'd choose to be planted in Chile". In 2000, he bought 200 hectares of land, 200 hectares of Chilean terroir. The Hacienda Araucano estate is located in the Colchague Valley, close to the historic village of Lolol. The region is a prime location for winegrowing, with its oceanic climate, thermal amplitude and different microclimates all contributing to the creation of exceptional wines. The Hacienda Auraucano estate has converted to biodynamic viticulture and now produces wines that respect the environment. The vineyard offers wines made from pinot noir, syrah and sauvignon blanc.
