The winemaker

This young estate, the result of a partnership between Viña San Pedro S.A. and Sociedad Agrícola y Ganadera Río Negro Ltd, has had the ambition from the outset to produce some of the finest wines in northern Chile. Tabali, which means "water crossing" in an old local dialect, is in fact located in a particularly hot region, bordering the Atacama Desert, but benefiting from the Camanchaca, the morning bubbles from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyard, planted in 1993, is already producing a fine range of wines in the spirit of Chile's finest vintages.
