In a few words ...

Chateau Tour Bayard covers 10 hectares planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.
Montagne St. Emilion wines from gravelly soils gain in finesse what they lose in power. They impose their personality through a solid tannic constitution. These are wines for laying down.
The 1994 vintage would have been a great year had it not been for the September rains which prevented full ripening. The reds are well-structured, more tannic than the 1993s, but sometimes a little dry. The earlier-ripening Merlot ripened better than the Cabernet Sauvignon, so the Right Bank is at an advantage.
