Marked by three cold spells in mid-December, early January and mid-February, winter 2010 was also gray, long and harsh. After these cold spells, bud-break came around April 10, and the vines quickly made up for this delay thanks to a radiant April that was remarkably dry, sunny and warm. A warm, sunny and dry July enabled the vines to make up some of the delay in flowering. At the end of September, autumn began to set in, with cool nights and sunny days with no precipitation. This dream climate lasted until mid-October, allowing the Cabernets to fully ripen and reach very promising levels of extractable anthocyanins. The harvest was ideal from start to finish, allowing each grape variety and plot to be picked at optimum phenolic ripeness. The Merlot harvest began on September 28. The Cabernets were harvested on October 13. With a yield of 33 hl/ha, the 2010s have a deep color, and the complexity and intensity of their fruit, freshness and tannic density already suggest their enormous potential. Around 22,000 bottles were released on May 3 and May 2012.
