In a few words ...
The 1999 vintage was looking good overall, with quality and quantity. But once again, a violent storm on September 5 wiped out 10% of St Emilion. The situation in the other appellations was no better, but the winegrowers were able to save the ripe grapes thanks to the September sunshine. The winemaker's hard work will be recognized by the wine's structure.
