In a few words ...

A neighbor of the prestigious Haut-Brion, Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion now covers some ten hectares, recently enlarged with the purchase of neighboring plots. The vineyard is planted with 55% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. The terroir, which is fairly warm due to its proximity to the city of Bordeaux, is composed of filtering red gravel and clay on limestone bedrock. J. Suckling: 96-97/100

Taste

Composed on average of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, the red wines of Pessac-Léognan make a good compromise between marked tannins and the greediness of the fruit. We thus find red and ripe fruits, and empyreumatic notes.
