In a few words ...

The start of the viticultural year was marked by a cold and relatively wet winter, which led to budburst being slightly later than in 2009, around mid-April. The dry, sunny weather in April was particularly favourable for vine development. May and June were characterized by alternating rainy spells and sunny days. The beginning of June was marked by a wave of cool weather which complicated the flowering of the Merlot, leading to coulure and millerandage. Fortunately, July was very dry (less than 20 mm rainfall), with relatively high temperatures which enabled the grapes to make up for the delay in flowering. The months of August and September were very dry, with fine daytime temperatures and cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and completely. The start of the viticultural year was marked by a cold and relatively wet winter, which led to budburst being slightly later than in 2009, around mid-April.
