Facing the famous Sauternes vineyards, Château Labatut-Bouchard occupies a privileged position at the top of a hill overlooking the Garonne valley. The property is located at the end of the commune of Saint-Maixant, on the border of the first Côtes de Bordeaux (now Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux since 2009) and Côtes de Bordeaux Saint-Macaire appellations. The quality of its terroir, a plateau of gravel on the highest point of the Gironde, and its south-facing slopes, are its assets. The traditional noble Bordeaux grape varieties of Merlot, Cabernet and Cabernet Sauvignon produce aromatic, well-balanced wines. A touch of Petit Verdot adds finesse and concentration. Traditional Bordeaux vinification in vats. Aged in vats with staves (3 weeks) in gravelly clay.
Aroma
Expressive nose of ripe fruit (black cherry), spices, chocolate and vanilla.
Taste
On the palate, the attack is smooth and the finish has well-melted tannins.
