Chateau Figeac covers 41 hectares planted with 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot. It's an unusual blend for the appellation. It's the largest estate in St. Emilion.
the saint emilion vineyard has been a world heritage site since 1999. It is the largest wine-growing region in the Libourne region. st emilion wines are fleshy, spicy and often marked by a fruity note. the great king louis xiv dubbed them "the nectar of the gods".the wines have an intense red color, with notes of red or black fruit on the nose. The tannic structure becomes silky and mellow with ageing, and the aromatic palette is enriched by more complex spicy notes.
The harvest and quality of the 1967 vintage red wines was fair. A hot summer, especially in August, and a superb month of September produced fine, long-keeping red wines.
