Saint Estèphe wines are the most tannic in the Médoc. Dressed in garnet red, they remain closed on the palate for a long time, only to explode when they reach maturity.
The 1990 vintage was marked by great sunshine, large volumes and therefore a great year. The red wines have a very fine tannic structure and a good sugar/acidity balance.
Appearance
Dense, dark garnet-red color, tending toward violet in its youth.
Aroma
Le bouquet laisse apparaître des notes de cassis, de violette, de moka, de vanille, d'épices et de réglisse.
Taste
Saint-Estèphe wines have full-bodied tannins and therefore mature more slowly than most other Medocs. They offer black fruits, a note of freshness, often a woody or smoky aspect and a floral touch.
