Château Bouscassé is Alain Brumont's family estate in Maumusson-Laguian. This 100% Tannat Madiran comes from vines that are sometimes centuries old, planted on great terroirs. These are small plots of fine clay bordering the old cliffs of Maumusson-Laguian, producing a distinguished, elegant, racy wine with excellent ageing potential. Vines between 50 and 100 years old. Aged on lees in 100% new barrels for 14 to 16 months.
Appearance
Garnet-red with orange highlights.
Aroma
The nose is marked by tobacco, undergrowth and animal scents, such as leather, with a hint of black and red fruit aromas (blackcurrant and cherry).
Wine Fruity | Gourmand | Spicy
Taste
Medium-bodied on the palate, the tannins are substantial and totally melted, in harmony with the acidity and alcohol, which are present but well-balanced. The finish is long, with hints of tobacco, dried herbs and ageing.
