Fronsac wines offer a complex bouquet of red fruits and spices, with dense tannins that are always elegant, generally well-coated and very ripe.
The 1998 vintage was very good. The dry, hot climate enabled the grapes to ripen beautifully, with thick skins that saved them from the September rains. The grands vins produced complex, elegant, fine wines. The St Emilions and Pomerols produced velvety, powerful wines, while the Margaux and Graves were more focused on fruit and finesse.
