As the son of schoolteachers, nothing in alain chabanon's life was destined to lead him to the vineyards and the winemaking profession. Even if his father, from his early teens, had taught him a taste for wine and opened him up to its cultural side. But his first grape harvests, begun at the age of 14, convinced him that working in the vineyards was not very interesting work. His dream was to raise wild and proud Aubrac cows on the plateau of the same name. With this in mind, Alain went off to study agronomy in Bordeaux. Until internships at wine châteaux and decisive encounters with their cellar masters changed his perspective. He discovered that working in the vineyard and making wine could be fascinating. After specializing in oenology, alain spent a few years working for renowned winegrowers: alain brumont in madiran, then in corsica and finally as director of a cooperative winery in the gard region, trying to show that it was also possible to achieve great things through cooperation.
