Since the death of didier dagueneau in september 2008, his son louis-benjamin and daughter charlotte have been in charge of this exceptional domaine dedicated to sauvignon blanc. They perpetuate the spirit of high-end craftsmanship defined by their father. Here, crate harvesting is carried out in a very short space of time, at optimum ripeness, and with a great deal of manpower. The use of yeasts selected in their vineyards, tight settling and long maturation on lees without racking remain the basis of an absolute quest for the crystalline expression of Sauvignon - enhanced by a meticulous maturation in wood, in barrels of greater volume than barriques, "cigares" (320 l) or "tonnes" (600 l). Seven cuvées make up the range: blanc fumé de pouilly, a blend of four parcels; pur sang, a blend from the la folie sector; buisson renard, a more compact parcel from saint-andelain; silex, the crystalline purity of flint clays; not forgetting the extremely rare clos du calvaire and astéroïde, from a vineyard that is always very ripe. The final terroir is Sancerre de Chavignol, from the heart of the côte des monts damnés grand cru.
