The winemaker
After meticulously exploring a multitude of French and international whiskies, with the aim of defining a whisky style all their own - elegant, refined, subtly expressive, smooth and harmonious - La Distillerie des Bienheureux took the decision to bring together three distinct single malts to create an exceptional triple malt: thus Bellevoye whisky was born.
So Bellevoye is an all-French triple malt, where the Charentais whisky they produce is carefully blended with the country's two finest single malts. These two guest distilleries compete every two years in a blind tasting of the entire national production. Bellevoye embodies an aromatic complexity that could not be achieved by a single distillery, becoming a reflection of the excellence of the emerging and dynamic French whisky industry.
Each of the three distilleries carries out an initial maturation of at least three years in oak casks, followed by a period of secondary maturation at Bercloux, extending from 9 to 12 months in new French oak casks (toasted according to the Bellevoye method), as well as in casks that have previously contained wine or brandy.
