In a few words ...

Domaine de Montille has been established in Volnay since the middle of the 18th century. Today, it manages a 20-hectare vineyard, mainly Premier and Grand Crus, on the Côte de Beaune, but also in the Côte de Nuits, and produces around 8,000 cases in 20 appellations. It was Hubert de Montille who wrote the finest pages of the 20th century. The lawyer and his children have worked unceasingly to give new scope to this estate, which had shrunk over time. By the 1960s, he had made it a world-renowned estate. At a time when wines were being standardized, this generation of winemakers was to establish the reputation of the great terroir wines, authentic and elegant. It was this love of a job well done that Hubert undoubtedly passed on to his children. First Étienne, then Alix. The brother and sister have taken over the reins and are perpetuating the values of the domaine. He vinifies the pinots noirs, she looks after the chardonnays. Etienne's arrival marks a change in continuity. There's no question of questioning the estate's values, which have made it one of the most sought-after estates on the Côte de Beaune.
