Barbule is the non-dosed Crémant de Loire cuvée from Domaine des Grandes Espérances. To ensure a fine, balanced bubble that is not dominated by acidity, we have decided to keep our bottles on lath for a minimum of 24 months before disgorging. This 100% Chenin Crémant de Loire is pampered from plot to bottle. The grapes are harvested at optimum ripeness, by hand in 10kg crates. They are then presse... d slowly and gently. The first fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine is aged for 8 months on fine lees, giving it great aromatic complexity, fatness and volume. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle in the purest Champagne tradition. The richness and concentration of sugars in the grapes at harvest avoids the addition of expedition liqueur. The "Barbule" cuvée is a Crémant de Loire without dosage, which will be aged for a minimum of 24 months on laths to ensure perfect maturation of the wine before bottling. Read more

Appearance
"Barbule" is characteristic of the finest Crémant de Loire. The bubbles are numerous, fine, delicate and persistent.
Aroma
The nose is complex, with floral notes blending perfectly with white-fleshed fruit aromas.

The attack on the palate is very fresh, then the Crémant rises in power to finish on a taut, saline note that calls for another glass.
