The winemaker

Trapiche is located in the town of Maipu, surrounded by a natural landscape. The building was constructed in 1912 with a Florentine style and is recognized as an icon of Mendoza winemaking architecture. Combining tradition and cutting-edge technology, this winery was designed for the production of high-quality wines. The Trapiche story began in 1883, in a small vineyard called El Trapiche, in the Godoy Cruz district of Mendoza, where the grapes for the first fine wines were grown. With over 130 years' experience, Trapiche has earned its place as a pioneering producer in the introduction of French grape varieties, the production of varietal wines, the import of French oak barrels and the use of stainless steel tanks. True to its origins, today Trapiche is in a continuous quest for the latest best practices. Led by Daniel Pi, Director of Viticulture, Trapiche's winemaking team constantly aims to improve winemaking practices by exchanging experience and knowledge with winemakers in other wine-producing countries such as France, the USA, Australia and New Zealand.
